HHS Offerings at Senior Snippets

As part of the Bluffton Parks Department's Senior Snippets Program, Purdue Extension HHS Educator, Molly Hoag, will be offering 2 upcoming programs:

Dehydrating 101 will be offered over the course of TWO sessions. The first session will take place on April 15,2024 at 2pm at the Washington Park Pavilion in Bluffton. The objectives of session one are:

  1. Learn basic methods and techniques for dehydration
  2. Choosing healthy foods to dehydrate
  3. Learn to safely preserve food through dehydration
  4. Learn through hands-on demonstrations of the process

The second session of Dehydrating 101 will be on April 22, 2024 at 2pm at the Washington Park Pavilion in Bluffton. The objectives for session two are:

  1. Learn effective storage methods for long-term preservation
  2. Explore how dehydrated foods enhance a healthy diet
  3. Sample healthy dehydrated snacks

 

The second program that will be offered in the Senior Snippets series by Purdue Extension HHS Educator, Molly Hoag, is Cooking With an Air Fryer. This program will be offered on May 6, 2024 at 2pm at the Washington Park Pavilion in Bluffton. The objectives for this program are:

  1. Learn the basics of air frying and different air fryer models
  2. Learn about cooking and food safety tips
  3. Learn air fryer safety tips
  4. Receive recipes
  5. Learn through demonstrations and samples

All workshops are free of charge.
