The following table lists the different animal species and the respective form of identification that is required for a 4-H member to be eligible to show in the 4-H livestock shows at the 2020 Indiana State Fair. The animal ID information must be entered in the Indiana 4HOnline enrollment system by the respective deadlines. Missing, incomplete or incorrect animal ID information could result in state fair ineligibility for that particular animal.  The deadline to enroll for all species is JULY 1.

 

Beef/Dairy Beef Steers & Dairy Beef Feeder Steers: 
For State Fair:  840-RFID Tag and 5-digit County Tag and DNA Hair Sample and 2 color photos uploaded in 4HOnline (full body image with 4 feet showing and photo of head with required ear tags.) 
Maximum # to enroll: 10 total steers/20 feeder steers
Commercial/Market Heifers:  
For State Fair:  840-RFID Tag and 5-digit County Tag and DNA Hair Sample and 2 color photos uploaded in 4HOnline (full body image with 4 feet showing and photo of head with required ear tags.)
Maximum # to enroll:  10 total heifers
Beef, Registered Heifers:
For State Fair:  840-RFID tag and tattoo and DNA Hair Sample
Maximum# to enroll:  10 total heifers
Dairy Cattle:
For State Fair:  840-RFID tag and animal's registered name and registration number (or dam's registration number)
Maximum # to enroll:  40
Dairy Goat-Females, Registered:
Breed Registry Tattoo
Dairy Wethers:
For State Fair: 5-digit County Tag or Tattoo
Maximum # to enroll:  40 dairy goats total
Meat Goat Wethers:
For State Fair: 840-RFID Tag and 5-digit County Tag and DNA Hair Sample and 2 color photos uploaded in 4HOnline (full body image with 4 feet showing and photo of head with required ear tags).
Boer Goat Females, Registered:
For State Fair: Breed Registry Tattoo and DNA Hair Sample
Market Goat Does (Wether Dams), Unregistered:
For State Fair: 840-RFID Tag and 5-digit County Tag and DNA Hair Sample and 2 color photos uploaded in 4HOnline (full body image with 4 feet showing and photo of head with required ear tags).
Maximum # to enroll: 40 meat goats total
Pygmy Goats, Registered:
For State Fair: Breed Registry Tattoo or Microchip that matches registration papers
Pgymy Goats, Unregistered:
For State Fair: Official USDA Scrapie Tag or Official Scrapie Tattoo
Maximum # to enroll: 40 pygmy goats total
Horse & Pony:
For State Fair: 2 color photos (face and all 4 feet)
Maximum # to enroll: 20 horses total
Llama & Alpaca:
For State Fair: 2 color photos (face and all 4 feet)
Maximum # to enroll: 20 horses total
Sheep-Market Lambs:
For State Fair: 840-RFID Tag and 5-digit County Tag and DNA Hair Sample and 2 color photos uploaded in 4HOnline (full body image with 4 feet showing and photo of head with required ear tags).
Sheep-Commerical Ewes:
For State Fair: 840-RFID Tag and 5-digit County Tag and DNA Hair Sample and 2 color photos uploaded in 4HOnline (full body image with 4 feet showing and photo of head with required ear tags).
Sheep-Registered Ewes:
For State Fair: 840-RFID Tag and ID that matches registration papers and DNA Hair Sample and 2 color photos uploaded in 4HOnline (full body image with 4 feet showing and photo of head with required ear tags).
Maximum # to enroll: 30 sheep total
Swine:
For State Fair: 840-RFID Tag and Ear Notch and DNA Hair Sample
 Maximum # to enroll:  15 gilts/15 barrows
