2026 Spring Garden Clinic Returns February

The Marion County Master Gardener Association invites gardeners of all experience levels to attend the 2026 Spring Garden Clinic, a full-day educational event packed with research-based gardening knowledge, inspiration, and practical ideas you can use at home.

The clinic will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. at the Ivy Tech Community College Culinary and Conference Center2820 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208. The event is open to the public.

Participants will enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast, a catered lunch, and the opportunity to select from multiple educational sessions throughout the day.

This year’s Spring Garden Clinic features a dynamic lineup of Purdue Extension specialists, state botanists, professional designers, and experienced Master Gardeners covering a wide range of topics, including:
  • Diagnosing plant diseases using real cases from the Purdue Plant & Pest Diagnostic Laboratory
  • Seed starting strategies to extend your growing season and stretch your gardening budget
  • Indiana’s native ferns and endangered and threatened plant species
  • Gardening after tree loss and re-designing sunny or shaded spaces
  • Raised-bed gardening lessons learned from award-winning demonstration gardens
  • Landscaping with native plants to support butterflies and moths
  • Growing and eating locally through native food farming
  • Understanding soil tests, nutrients, and fertilizer choices
  • Designing productive and beautiful kitchen gardens
  • Gardening successfully in shade and woodland landscapes
  • Exploring the pros and cons of plant-based eating
The day begins with a welcome from Marion County Horticulture Educator Carey Grablefollowed by four session blocks that allow attendees to tailor the experience to their gardening interests.

  • Registration opens: January 5 at 6:00 a.m.
  • Registration closes: January 23 at 11:30 p.m..
