Shooting Sports

The objective of this project is to teach safe and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment including sound decision-making, self-discipline, and concentration. Shooting Sports also promotes the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship, and ethical behavior. State‑sponsored workshops teach volunteers about shooting sports safety and the developmental abilities and maturity of 4-H youth. Certified Indiana 4-H Shooting Sports Instructors will directly supervise all 4-H Shooting Sports activities.

First Year Members will receive instruction in archery, air rifle, muzzleloader, pistol and shotgun. They will bring a project book to the Final Shoot.

Second year and above Members will choose 1 - 2 disciplines to work to increase target accuracy. They will turn in a record sheet at the Final Shoot.
