Annual Program Dates

These dates are consistent every year in the 4-H Program. We ask that 4-H families carefully read through all dates to ensure they get the most out of their 4-H experience.

January 15 is our preferred enrollment date in the Wells County 4-H Program. While 4-Hers are able to enroll after this date, they may miss out on certain opportunities within the 4-H program and important information.

Please contact Purdue Extension Wells County at 260.824.6412 for questions on how to enroll.

Indiana 4-H Scholarship Applications are due January 25. Even if you're not a Senior or not planning to pursue college, check out these great scholarship opportunities and see what may be a fit for you!

May 15 is a very important date on the 4-H Calendar:
All 4-H Members - Project Add/Drop Date - We ask that 4-H Members confirm the projects they are planning to complete by this date. This can be done on 4-H Online
Livestock Exhibitors - This is the Animal ID deadline. All animals that you MIGHT bring to the Wells County Fair and/or Indiana State Fair must be properly identified in 4-H Online. Animals not identified in 4-H Online WILL NOT be eligible to exhibit at the Wells County Fair or Indiana State Fair. (4-H Members may still participate in the project by completing a record sheet and/or exhibiting an educational poster about their respective project.)
DNA samples for required species must also be submitted to the Purdue Extension Wells County Office on or before May 15 to be eligible for the Indiana State Fair. Please refer to the Indiana 4-H Animal ID page for more information:

To ensure smooth entry to the Wells County 4-H Fair, all 4-H projects intended to be exhibited at the Wells County 4-H Fair need to be entered in Fair Entry by July 1.
