Responding to On Farm Emergencies

Free Online Training Series

Thursday nights in June; 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. EDT

Source: Kurt Lanzone, Purdue Extension – Parke County

Purdue Extension Ag and Natural Resources Parke County is bringing you a webinar series dedicated to helping you improve your responses to agriculture emergencies. Kurt Lanzone from Purdue Extension is not only the Parke County Ag and Natural Resources Educator, but also an Indiana Certified Fire Instructor II/III.  With experience on the farm, and in the fire service he will bring this series aimed at helping to better prepare your first responders for on farm incidents.  It has been noticed in the past many of our rural first responders came to us naturally with an agriculture background, and now that number of personnel appears to be declining.   This program is aimed at giving overviews of hazards, scenarios, and tools that can be utilized to help your department be better prepared for Emergencies on the Farm.

We will start our first session on Thursday June 3rd at 7pm.  It will continue every Thursday in June covering topics from Pre-Incident Planning, Haz-Mat Concerns, Animal Hazards, Equipment Hazards, Grain Storage Hazards, and even Fire Response and Fire Flows.  The webinar series is free of charge. Registration can be accessed at, https://tinyurl.com/ParkeFarmResponse please answer all the questions in the registration as these will help us tailor the program to the group that attends. For more information about the webinar series, contact Kurt Lanzone at KLanzone@purdue.edu or 765-569-3176.
