WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — On April 11, Purdue University’s Indiana AgrAbility Project, in cooperation with Huntington University and nonprofit partner Easterseals Crossroads, is sponsoring the Indiana AgrAbility Agricultural Assistive Technology Expo.
Assistive technologies are critical for the success of farmers with disabilities and other functional limitations. As the average age of farmers increases, more and more producers can benefit from these tools. However, many people are unaware of the types of technologies available and few people have experience using them. The event will offer experiential learning opportunities, including demonstrations and training with agricultural assistive technology and a farm visit.
The expo will be held at Habecker Dining Commons on the Huntington University campus from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Admission is free, but registration is required by Thursday, April 3. Attendance is limited to 70 people. Visit agrability.info/at-expo to register.
Target audiences for this event include Extension professionals, vocational rehabilitation counselors and their area supervisors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and AgrAbility staff members.
