The community is our classroom — where we bring university information to the local level and help people strengthen families, spend smart, eat right, and live well. Cheryl Casselman
County Extension Director
Cheryl Casselman is the Sullivan County Health and Human Sciences Extension Educator. Cheryl grew up in Camby, Indiana and graduated from Decatur Central High School. She earned a bachelor of science degree in Communications from Indiana State University and a Master's of Leadership Development from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. She moved to Sullivan, Indiana in 1994 to be a newspaper reporter/photographer at the Sullivan Daily Times. For about three years, Cheryl enjoyed having a front row seat to government, events and the people of Sullivan County. She is a National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) certified group fitness instructor, and is CPR certified. She is certified in Mental Health First Aid USA through the National Council For Behavioral Health to provide people experiencing problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, and substance use disorders, and has completed QPR Gatekeeper training. Cheryl is passionate about helping people find new inspiration to live healthy, including eating well, moving more and budgeting.
