The holidays can be stressful. Take a break and come learn tips on managing burnout and your landscape. Participates will also create a craft to make and take home as a reminder of all you are thankful for this season. Offered Monday, November 20th at 11:00am in-person at the Owls Club (2715 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart). Owls Club is a private, community organization that exists to help aging adults in Elkhart County and surrounding communities thrive. Call the Owls Club at (574) 336-2652 to learn more and sign up for a free membership to register for upcoming programs.

The brain plays an important part in how we come together and do activities. As time goes on, we begin to see the cognitive impact social connections have on our brain. Learn how to stay socially active in your community and what activities provide the greatest connection to others. Offered Thursday, November 30th at 1:00pm in-person at the Purdue Extension Elkhart County office and again at 6:00pm via Zoom. To register, call Jenn at (574) 533-0554 or email fink24@purdue.edu. ServSafe educates food service workers about food safety. ServSafe Food Protection Manager is the highest ServSafe certification. It satisfies Indiana requirements to become a Certified Food Protection manager and focuses on five aspects: foodborne microorganisms and allergens; personal hygiene; purchasing, receiving, and storage; preparing, cooking, and serving; and facilities, cleaning/sanitation, and managing pests.

 The ServSafe Food Manager class will be held on Tuesday, November 28th from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Purdue Extension Marshall County office in Plymouth. The full 1-day training includes a manual and proctored exam. The certification is valid for 5 years. A photo ID with signature is required to take the exam (driver’s license, state ID, student ID, military ID, employee ID, U.S. green card, or valid passport).
