The Return of the Japanese Beetles
To quote a line from the movie Poltergeist - "They're back!" If you haven't already noticed, Japanese Beetles are back in full force this summer for the first time in years. In fact, as I have been noticing them lately in my own landscape, I looked back in my computer files to see the last article I wrote on these pesky critters, and it was way back in 2003!
Happy happens here again this year as we celebrate Indiana's bicentennial with two and a half miles of food and fun. Ten acres of thrills, rides and games. Seventeen days of FREE Stage stars. And hundreds of events and programs. Phew that's a lot!

Production agriculture will be front and center at the annual Davis-Purdue Agricultural Center Field Day. The event is scheduled for August 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The educational program is free. Davis-Purdue is located five miles north of Farmland on Indiana 1.
Austin Wampler was the 2016 Wayne County 4-H Supreme Showmanship Winner, was the 2016 Wayne County 4-H Master Swine Showman.
