Virtual Beginning Farmer Program
UPDATE:
The virtual Beginning Farmer program was originally scheduled to begin in January of 2026 (see below). Unfortunately, we did not meet the minimum enrollment required by the registration deadline. As a result, we are taking a brief reset to allow additional time to promote the program and increase participation. The program will be delayed until a new start date of Feb. 19 to allow more to enroll. If you were on the fence as to whether to participate, I urge you to reconsider. The new enrollment deadline is February 16. Please use the registration link below.
All sessions will be held on Thursdays from 7:00–8:30 p.m. Eastern (6:00–7:30 p.m. Central) via Zoom. Sessions will include Purdue Extension professionals as well as farmers from a variety of operations across Indiana.
----------
Purdue Extension is hosting a virtual Beginning Farmer Program for small-scale and urban farmers looking to improve their business planning with a newer farm. The program will be Thursdays from Jan. 8 through Feb. 26 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. EST via Zoom.
This 8-session program helps new and beginning farmers find success through creation of a practical action plan. Farmers will set goals, identify assets and challenges, and become aware of resources that can lead them towards a successful farming operation.
Registration is $90 and includes a digital copy of the Beginning Farmer workbook. Registration and more information can be found at https://cvent.me/xEyg2g. Registration closes Jan. 5.
Questions can be directed to Amy Thompson, Beginning Farmer Coordinator, at mailto:afthompson@purdue.edu. If you need a reasonable accommodation or an interpreter or translator to participate in this event, please contact Amy Thompson by Dec. 16. Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
