Arts & Crafts

(State Fair Entry)

For judging / check-in information, see schedule in this book.

Handout of requirements is available.

State Fair Entries:

Each county may enter a maximum of 12 exhibits. Four of those exhibits will be the Grand Champion from City or Farm Toy Scene, Lego project, Scrapbook project, and Gift Wrapping project.

The Arts & Crafts project is different than many of the 4-H projects. One of the major goals in crafts is to encourage 4-H members to develop creative skills.

** Fair Entry – You MUST register your 4-H project in Fair Entry if you plan to exhibit at the 4-H Fair. See page 21 in the Fair Book! **

Beginner Grades (3-5)

  1. A 4-H member may enter two craft projects in each category – Basic Crafts, Model Crafts, Needlecraft, and Fine Arts. A 4-H member may be selected in only 1 category to represent the county at the State Fair. The judges will make the final selection.
  2. 2. In all craft areas, you will be expected to progress and develop more skills and learn new and advanced techniques, as you gain more knowledge over time. Remember: What is important is how well you did what you did, and the new skills and knowledge gained!
