2026 Area 8 & 9 4-H Camp 

2026 Camp Dates: June 3-5

Location: Camp Tecumseh

Space is limited. The registration form and health form (see below) are due to the extension office along with payment in order to reserve your spot. The first 30 to turn in all required items will be automatically  accepted, the rest will be added to the waitlist and notified after April TBD

This camp is available to 4-H members in grades 3-6 who are enrolled in 4-H in one of the following counties: White, Howard, Pulaski, Cass, Clinton, Carroll, Miami, Tippecanoe, or Newton. This 3 day, 2 night camp brings together nearly 250 youth to learn and make new friends. Some of the activities kids will participate in at camp include hiking, archery, crafts, nature, foods, sports, rock climbing, swimming, and so much more! Each cabin is led by 2 high school 4-H members who have been trained by camp staff and Purdue Extension Educators. Campers love returning to camp year after year to learn new things, make new friends, and build important lifeskills.

Camp COunselor Apps- Due February 1, 2026

Camp cannot happen without the help of our awesome camp counselors. Applications to become a counselor are currently open and due Febraury 1, 2026. Any high school 4-H member is eligible to apply. No previous camp experience is required. There are a limited number of spots available. Notice of selection will come after February 3rd. Camp counselors must be able to make it to 3 training meetings on March 5th, April 15th, and on May 12th OR 13th. 

Benefits of being a camp counselor:

  • Resume builder (scholarships, jobs, or college)
  • Community service hours 
  • Relevant work experience for a future in childcare 
  • FUN! 

Application Instructions

Applications are available below. All applicants (new and returning) will fill out the same application. Fill out all of the information. Be sure to include specific examples of things you have done that are relevant to being a camp counselor (doesn't have to be 4-H related). 

Please note that if you will be 18 years old by June 3rd, please mark the option indicating that you are 18 years old.
