Exploring 4-H Drawing Project Requirements

  1. You must be in the second grade during the 2025-2026 school year (as of Jan 1, 2026)
  2. You only need to attend Exploring 4-H meetings, not local club meetings.
  3. You do not have to keep records.

Exhibit Requirements

  1. As an Exploring 4-H member, you are to learn a new skill or task. You will be making your project to bring to the fair on Tuesday, July 14th between 4 and 7 p.m. Since you are to make this exhibit, we do not expect you to do a perfect job, but to do the best you can.
  2. Your exhibit will be placed in a special “Exploring 4-H” section in the 4-H Exhibit Hall at the fair. Ribbons will be given to everyone who exhibits a project.

What to Exhibit

  1. You should exhibit a pencil/colored pencil drawing that is no larger than 8 ½” by 11”. Your artwork should be framed and able to sit up right on a table or be hung on a wall.
  2. Be sure to put your name, project, and grade (2nd grade), on the official Putnam County 3” x 4” label. Labels will be available through the Extension office for free. The label is to be placed in the lower right corner of your picture frame.

Things to Do

  1. Practice drawing different subjects until you find the one you like doing the best.
  2. Then when getting your exhibit ready, pick the one subject you enjoyed drawing the most and would like to do for your final project.
