4-H Scholarships
As an Indiana 4-H'er, you have the ability to receive funding to pursue your post-secondary education or career goals by applying for one (or more!) scholarships.
Each year, the Indiana 4-H Youth Development Program in partnership with the Indiana 4-H Foundation awards more than $125,000 in scholarships to young people around the state who can showcase their accomplishments and the skills they have learned through their time in 4-H.
State scholarship applications are due on January 25 each year, and various local scholarships are due between May 1 to June 30.

Current 4-H Scholarship Opportunities
In partnership with the Indiana 4-H Foundation, the Indiana 4-H Youth Development Program annually awards more than $150,000.00 in scholarships to 4-H members to pursue post-secondary education. Scholarships are awarded to recognize youth participating in Indiana’s 4-H Youth Development Program on their achievements and life skill development resulting from their participation in a variety of 4-H experiences.
Local LaPorte County Scholarship & Deadlines
Beef Scholarship
This scholarship program was established to encourage young people to find a way to merge
what they have learned in the beef cattle project into their prospective careers. One $500
scholarship will be given to a senior in high school annually, sponsored by LaPorte County 4-H
Beef Committee. Application due June 15.
Booster & Alumni Scholarship
The primary purpose of the LaPorte County 4‐H Booster and Alumni Association scholarship is to award
scholarships to recipients who have demonstrated outstanding leadership ability through 4‐H
participation and community service. Application due May 9.
Dog Club Scholarship
Any 4-H member (or alumni within two years of 4-H completion) who is a graduating
senior who will be continuing their education in a technical school, trade school, college,
or university. 4-H member should have at least 4 years of 4-H involvement in the
LaPorte County Dog Club. Application due May 1.
LaPorte County Agricultural Association Vocational Scholarship
Limited to High School Seniors & Current LaPorte County 4-H Member. Application due May 1.
Morse Daube Scholarship
Any graduating SENIOR who has been accepted by an accredited college or university and is
enrolled in LaPorte County 4-H Club work. Student may transfer colleges. This may be used for
a degree program of less than 4 years, but may not be used for technical schools. Application due May 1.
Poultry Scholarship
A $500 scholarship will be available on a yearly basis to eligible members in the La Porte County
4-H Poultry Program. Selection will be at the discretion of the scholarship selection committee. Application due May 1.
Rabbit Scholarship
Any 4-H member who is a graduating senior who will be continuing their education in
a technical school, trade school, college, or university. Two scholarships will be available on a yearly basis to eligible members in the LaPorte County 4-H Rabbit Program. Selection will be at the discretion of the
scholarship selection committee. Application due July 7.
Richard "Dick" Reel Memorial Scholarship
Any youth who is a graduating senior or 1st year student in an accredited post high school education program AND is a past LaPorte county 4H member is eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship can be used for a college, vocational or trade/technical school. The scholarship will be awarded at the 4-H 10 Year Member ceremony by a representative of the Richard Reel Memorial Scholarship committee. Application due June 15.
Weinkauff Scholarship
A $500 grant will be awarded to a 4-H Swine Member exhibiting county-bred swine at the La Porte County Fair. The Weinkauff Family is offering the grant through an endowment held by the La Porte County Unity Foundation. The grant will be an annual presentation. Application due June 30.
