What We Do
The Horticulture Team works to support the development and dissemination of resources and information relevant to homeowners/gardeners, turf industry professionals, landscaping professionals, and commercial nursery and specialty crop growers through events, resources, newsletters, and providing up-to-date information for Indiana community members.
The Horticulture Team hosts a variety of educational workshops, seminars, webinars, conferences, field days, tours for clientele to train volunteers and develop leadership. Additionally our group also publishes bulletins, publishes media on website's social media, videos, newsletters to disseminate information. We also perform applied research, participate in advisory committees, go on site visits and individual consults throughout the year.
The Horticulture Team is comprised of faculty from Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Entomology, Botany and Plant Pathology, Agricultural Economics and ANR Extension and they contribute to Purdue Extension Programs such as the Master Gardener and Rainscaping Education.
Members communicate with clientele via a variety of newsletters including Vegetable Crops Hotline, Facts for Fancy Fruits, and the Purdue Landscape Report. This ANR team is challenged with meeting the needs of a diverse group of stakeholders through a variety of media and methods.

About the Horticulture Team
Develop and deliver, in person and virtual programming in the following for homeowners/gardeners, turf industry professionals, landscaping professionals, and commercial nursery and specialty crop growers. Our specialists create E-series bulletins, suite of Purdue Doctor Apps and communicate through a variety of newsletters.
- Enhance Indiana stakeholder's understanding of horticulture issues.
- Support business and production practices, networking, and decision making of homeowners/gardeners commercial horticultural businesses and the turf industry.
The horticulture focus group supports the development and dissemination of resources and information relevant to consumers, gardeners, turf industry professionals, landscaping professionals, and commercial nursery and flower, fruit, and vegetable crop growers. Specialists and educators throughout the Purdue Community are members, including faculty from the Purdue departments of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Entomology, Food Science, Botany and Plant Pathology, Agricultural Economics and ANR Extension. This focus group is challenged with meeting the needs of a diverse group of stakeholders through a variety of media and methods.
