Potawatomi Wildlife Park Receives Arrowhead Grant with Purdue Extension
Arrowhead Grant Awarded to Potawatomi Wildlife Park in Partnership with Marshall County Purdue Extension
Potawatomi Wildlife Park, in collaboration with Marshall County Purdue Extension Office, seeks funding to develop an Interactive Forestry and Pollinator Trail designed to educate visitors about tree species, native plants, and pollinators. This trail will feature five designated stopping points, each highlighting a planted tree alongside an informational display. These displays will provide details on the tree's characteristics, ecological significance, and fun facts, as well as information on a featured pollinator plant and its role in supporting pollinators. The trail will be located at the Potawatomi Wildlife Park, 16998 IN-331, Tippecanoe, IN 46570 in Marshall County.
By creating an engaging, hands-on learning experience, this project aims to inspire youth to explore forest management, understand the importance of pollinator plants, engage with the 4-H Youth Forestry, Beekeeping, Entomology, and or soil and water science program. Additionally, the trail will serve as an accessible educational resource for schools, families, and nature enthusiasts, fostering a deeper connection to the natural world.
