Adult Art & Hobby General Rules

Thanks for stopping by! The Grant County Extension Homemakers are excited that you are interested in showing a project in the Adult Art & Hobby Show, At the Grant County 4-H Fair, June 13-19.

Here is some information that you need to know about the Adult Art and Hobby Show:

The Adult Art & Hobby Show is open to all Grant County residents 18 and over and is not a current member of a 4-H Club. It is also open to a Grant County EHC Club, and Grant County Master Gardeners.

Articles made for competition must have been within the past two years and must be the work of the exhibitor. Any articles previously exhibited at the Grant County Adult Art & Hobby Show is ineligible for exhibit again.  

This year the entry fee is $5.00 for the first entry and $1.00 per each additional entry.

Class 1 and 2 projects should be entered on Wednesday, June 9, 8am-Noon.

Class 3 and 4 projects should be entered on Thursday, June 10, 8am-Noon.

Class 1: Domestic Arts & Crafts

Categories include: Machine Embroidery, Bed Covers, Hand Quilting, Knitting-hand or machine, Crocheting, Sewing-hand or machine non-wearable, Clothing Construction Wearable, Counted Cross Stitch, Miscellaneous Needlework, Christmas Decoration, Wood Craft, Do Your Own Thing: fabric, metal, leather, ceramics, gourds, etc. Hand Woven, Scrapbooking, Wearable Art, and Collections

Class 2: Painting, Drawing & Photography

Categories include: Oil & Acrylic Painting, Water Color Painting, Drawings-pencil, charcoal, ink or pastels, Photography-Color, Black & White

Class 3: Foods and Food Preservation

Categories include: Food Preservation-canned vegetables, jams and jellies, pickles, canned fruits, salsa and sauces, Breads-plain and fancy yeast rolls, quick bread and muffins, Cookies-all and diabetic, Pies-one and two crusts, Cakes- scratch and mix.

Class 4: Horticulture and Floral

Categories include: single vegetable, single fruit, live flowers, and silk or dried flowers.
