Seven agricultural educators and industry leaders have been named recipients of the Certificate of Distinction, the highest honor bestowed by the Purdue Agricultural Alumni Association. The award is presented annually to professionals who have contributed significantly to agriculture, forestry or natural resources through career accomplishments, organizational involvement, community service and other activities.
Women who work in the agricultural industry can network and learn about topics ranging from business planning to gardening for health at the 2017 Midwest Women in Agriculture Conference. The conference will be held Feb. 22-23 at the Swan Lake Resort, 5203 Plymouth LaPorte Trail, Plymouth.

Purdue Extension-Jefferson/Switzerland Counties are offering the Strengthening Families for Parents and Youth 10-14 Program that focuses on family skills taught in group sessions to increase family strengths, build on improving family relationships, parenting skills and improving youth's social and life skills. The World Health Organization named this Strengthening Families Program the Number 1 prevention program out of 6,000 programs analyzed for long-term effects on substance use and misuse.
