Get Growing

Live Virtual Sessions delivered on ZOOM

Join Purdue Extension Educators for a seven-week basic horticulture course.

A basic horticulture class for homeowners and people curious about:

  • How plants grow
  • Troubleshooting garden pests and problems
  • Gowning vegetables, fruits, and flowers
  • Maintaining trees, shrubs, and lawns

Unlike the Purdue Extension Master Gardener Program training, this program does not require a volunteer commitment. It's a great option for people who are still working, want to continue learning, or are not yet ready to make the commitment to the Purdue EMG Program.

All you need is a strong desire to learn!

Program Schedule:

February 10: How Plants Grow: Basic Botany
February 17: What’s Pestering Your Garden
February 24: Woody Landscape Plants
March 3: Vegetable Gardening
March 10: Fantastic Flower Gardening
March 17: Lawn Care
March 24: Native Plants 101

Registration OPEN NOW; deadline February 1, 2026
