What We Do
Purdue Extension Health and Human Sciences (HHS Extension) delivers educational programs, applied research and resources to our community, with a focus on issues related to food, family, money and health. HHS Extension provides education to individuals and communities in each of Indiana's diverse counties. We bring university information to the local level - both in person and online - to help people strengthen relationships, eat smart, improve health and achieve financial wellness.

Learn how to connect to Wi-Fi, use Password Keeper, add and delete apps, utilize the Cloud, create ICE contacts, and explore the basics of their device’s camera. Participants need to bring their own device to engage in hands-on practice. Offered Tuesday, August 13th at 10:30am at the Kosciusko County Senior Center (800 N Park Ave, Warsaw, In 46580). Milk Alternatives
Not all kinds of milk are created equal. This program will take a look at what’s out there in the dairy and non-dairy world. Discover the unfamiliar of the increasingly popular dairy alternatives for other products as well. Offered Wednesday, August 28th at 12:00pm at the Home and Family Arts Building, Kosciusko County Fairgrounds (1400 E Smith St, Warsaw, In 46580). Pre-registration is required and space is limited. ServSafe Food Manager THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
ServSafe educates food service workers about food safety. ServSafe Food Protection Manager is their highest certification. It satisfies Indiana requirements to become a Certified Food Protection manager and focuses on five aspects:
- Foodborne microorganisma and allergens
- Personal hygiene
- Purchasing, receiving and storage
- Preparing, cooking and serving
- Facilities, cleaning/sanitation and managing pests
The full 1-day training includes a manual and proctored exam. You must score 70 percent or greater to earn the certificate. The certification is valid for five (5) years. A photo ID with signature is required to take the exam (driver license, state ID, student ID, military ID, employee ID, U.S. green card or valid passport).
