This project will help you learn about bees and beekeeping. You will learn about the types of bees, the honey and wax they produce, the plants that attract bees, and the equipment a beekeeper needs. If you want to set up your own hive, you'll learn basic beehive care as well as how to extract and bottle honey. Advanced topics include: increasing the number of your honey bee colonies, increasing honey production, producing special kinds of honey, and learning more about bee societies.
In this project youth have the opportunity to learn about, care for and grow their own berry plants. Any berry may be selected-strawberry, raspberry, blueberry etc. Youth need to care for their plants a minimum of 2 months.

How-to information for making and using icing as decoration for cakes, cookies, etc. This activity, which can be enjoyed by families and friends, also is an introduction to a money making skill and career.

Uses instructional materials that deal with young children at different ages (i.e., infants, toddlers, and preschool) and babysitting. Characteristics of various ages are studied and followed by observations and interactive activities.
This project provides youth with the opportunity to display their current collection and add to it over time. Participants will develop record keeping skills.
This project provides a combination of interactive CD and web based activities that are challenging and fun. Youth will learn how to interact with computers, use a variety of software and hardware, and take advantage of information on the internet.
This project allows youth to use their building skills and imaginations to complete construction set exhibits. Some popular construction sets include Lego, K ' Nex, Lincoln Logs, etc. Youth also learn record keeping skills.

There are more kinds of insects in the world than all other organisms combined. They live on the earth's surface, in the soil, and in water. Insects live in deserts, rain forests, hot springs, snow fields, and dark caves. This project will help you study insects and their relationship with people. You can also learn how to collect, preserve, and identify insects.
You will learn about amazing crops projects, Corn, Soybeans, Small Grains, and Alfalfa.

This project provides youth with the opportunity to recognize the importance of trees and forests. They will learn how to identify different types of forests, trees, and forest products. They will develop skills necessary to keep forests healthy.
The gardening project introduces youth to vegetable gardening. You will learn about planning a vegetable garden, planting, fertilizing, different vegetable pests, harvesting, storage techniques, and careers.
Educational materials with "How to" information on documenting one's heritage through ancestral listing. The project can be done as an individual or group with a parent or grandparent. It helps young people know where their ancestors resided, traveled, and developed some family traditions.
This project introduces youth to the fascinating hobby of "rock hunting." Geology involves studying the earth's crust, its layers, and their history. Youth learn to identify Indiana rocks, minerals, and fossils.
This project allows for great creativity. Youth will learn how to gift wrap assorted sizes of boxes and other items using purchased wrapping paper. They progress to designing their own wrapping materials.
4-H Gingerbread House Project

It is divided into Dairy Goat and Meat Goat.
This project will assist youth in making informed lifestyles choices. It uses six wellness factors: physical, social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and environmental. Emphasis is based on the wellness concept - dealing with the total person - mind, body, and spirit.

The 4-H Llama project (Llama & Alpacas) provides youth a fun and hands-on learning experience that developes life skills, as well as teaches valuable information about properly caring for their animal. an important objective of this project is for the 4-H member to experience the pride of owning/leasing a lama or alpaca, gaining it's trust and being responsible for its care.
4-H Marketing - This project will help youth practice life skills while having fun and learning.
This project contains exciting activities that focus on using the microwave to prepare everything from simple snacks to complete meals. Each learner guide has activities focused on: Techniques and Utensils, Nutrition, Food preparation, and Meal Preparation.
4-H Mini Program open to youth in grades K-1-2.
Youth learn how to Outdoor Cook. They cover safety, selection of a grill, selection of entree, and develop a menu around the grilled entrée. Advanced levels prepare an entire meal on the grill or fire.

Youth also have the opportunity to develop responsibility, decision-making, nurturing, and communication
Youth who enjoy reading are able to continue this hobby and make an exhibit showing something that they have learned. Others may develop a new passion for reading when they take this project. Youth read a total of eight books, 4 of their choice, and 4 from the Indiana Reading List at or above their grade level.
Provides an opportunity for youth to learn more about recycling and/or to use their creative talents in designing/making an item to use at home or a piece of artwork from all recycled materials.
4-H Resume Project
This creative project provides youth with opportunities to learn how to scrapbook. It allows youth to preserve their memories and those of their family in an organized and creative way. Youth will design and make several pages for display each year.
This is a series on how to sew. Participants sew garments of increasing difficulty as they progress. The garments range from simple items to a tailored suit or coat. There are also non wearable options to sew.

This project teaches safe operation of firearms and archery equipment. The disciplines offered in Allen County are: .22 rifle, air pistol, air rilfe, archery, muzzle loading, and shotgun. The disciplines offered in any county will depend on the availability of certified 4-H shooting sports instructors to teach the classes, range availability, and access to equipment. There are also Hunter Education classes offered in cooperation with the Department to Natural Resources.

Allen County 4-H Swine Project
The Tractor program provides youth with educational information about agricultural tractors and garden tractors and machinery that develops project skills (e.g., principles of engine operation, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, safe operation) and life skills (e.g., decision making, using science and technology, developing communication skills).
This project provides youth a fun and hands-on learning experience that helps them learn more about the Veterinary Science profession and opportunities for careers in animal health. Subjects such as general health care, physiology, anatomy, and careers are presented in the curricular materials through workshops such as Science Workshops for Youth and through hands on experiences with local veterinarians.
Youth will learn basic information about weather, including what causes variations in weather and why we have different seasons and climates on the earth. In this project youth will observe and record weather conditions and learn weather symbols.
Youth will collect, observe and identify wildflowers common to the USA. They will learn about habitat, families, gardening with wildflowers, exotic invasives, edible wild plants, medicinal plants, and making dyes with wild plants.
Observing and studying wildlife can provide a lifetime of enjoyment. This project will help youth learn to identify wildlife, basic wildlife needs, and how wildlife interacts with other wildlife and with people. At the advanced level youth will learn how to create a wildlife habitat.
This project provides youth with educational information about wood and how it can be used to construct items. The wood science project develops project skills (i.e., safe practices, using hand tools, using power tools, making specialized wood cuts) and life skills (i.e., decision-making, using science and technology, developing communication skills).
