The 4-H Outdoor Sports program came be as an evolution of the 4-H Shooting Sports program in LaPorte County. The Shooting Sports Program started in 1994, with the Archery Division. In 2009, Rifle & Shotgun was added, with Pistol & Outdoor Pursuits was added in 2012.

For 2020, the name of the program was updated to “Outdoor Sports” to reflect the broader goals of the program, and the addition of the 4-H Sportsfishing curriculum to our group of projects.

The focus of all 4-H programs is the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens. The LaPorte County 4-H Outdoor Sports Program was founded to accomplish these goals, while engaging youth in outdoor activities. The activities of the program and the support of caring adult leaders provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and conservation ethics.

Archery Division Fee - $10.00

Outdoor Pursuits Fee -$10.00

Sportfishing Project Fee - $10.00

Fundraiser Donation - $60.00

Don't want to participate in fundraising activities? Here's an easy way out. One donation per family helps support the club and activities without all the running around!

Fundraiser Ticket Deposit - $25.00

We are asking that each participant pay a $25 deposit for the pack of (5) Steak Fry tickets we are asking each participant to sell.

 Enrollment for the 2024-2025 4-H Season begins on October 1, 2024

1. Enroll in 4-HOnline. This is the is where you enroll in the program and select Clubs and Projects. Currently - There are two projects in the Outdoor Sports program: Shooting Sports & Sportsfishing.

2. Fill our enrollment form below. This is were we collect most of our participant information, and if you are in the Shooting Sports project, where you let us know what project division that you’ll be participating in. Shooting Sports currently has five divisions: Archery, Outdoor Pursuits, Pistol (limited to Grades 7 and older), Rifle, and Shotgun. Note that no equipment is required - the program will provide all shooting equipment, safety equipment, and ammunition when applicable.

3. Pay Club Fees. There will be payment options available on the last page of the form below. Note that we purposely keep our fees minimal, and do fundraising to raise the bulk of the funds to conduct the program.

4. Check our calendar on the navigation bar above, or at https://www.lp4houtdoors.org/calendar to see when our activities occur. Many of the workshops have “appointments” that allow us to cycle smaller groups through over the course of a workshop. The link to the sign-up forms will be posted in the event description, in our Facebook Group, and email updates.

5. Check your email! Starting in January, there will be weekly email updates, with event reminders, and links to workshop sign-ups. Check your spam folders if you aren’t receiving them.
