Huntington County 4-H offers a wide range of scholarships to celebrate our 4-H members. All scholarship applications must be turned into the Extension Office no later than May 31st.

Huntington County 4-H Scholarships

Two $500 scholarships are open to Huntington County 4-H member who is a current high school senior OR Huntington County 4-H alumni whose final year of 4-H eligibility was within the past two years. Selection criteria includes 4-H record, school/community activities.

Huntington 4-H Scholarship Application

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a current senior in high school in 4-H. Selection criteria includes 4-H record, community involvement, academic record. These items must be attached: Most recent high school transcript, two (2) letters of recommendation (from adults not related who are familiar with your goals and achievements).

Ray Vanderspool Scholarship Application

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded and is open to a Huntington County 4-H member who is a current high school senior OR Huntington County 4-H alumni whose final year of 4-H eligibility was within the past two years. You need to iinclude a current transcript of high school or post high school education. Scholarship payment will be made directly to the college / university / trade school listed on the application form. Scholarship will be awarded regardless of the recipient's school choice; however, the recipient must be enrolled in the selected Trade School, college or university for the fall semester. The Scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who in the judgment of the 4-H Selection Committee appear to be the most deserving based on the following criteria:
  1. Applicants must pursue post high school studies in the area of Nursing or career in a health / medical related field.
  2. Recipient shall possess good leadership potential as well as desirable personal and citizenship qualities. 4-H, school, and community involvement will be considered.
  3. The recipient's academic record and career goals will be considered.
  4. All qualified applicants will have an equal opportunity for consideration for the award. There will be no restrictions as to race, sex, religion, national origin, age, or handicap.
  5. Applicants may be asked to appear before the Selection Committee for a personal interview.

 Janell Saunders Scholarship Application

Up to four $500 scholarships will be awarded to current senior in high school and current member of Huntington County 4-H. 4-H record, with school/community activities considered. Applicant must be enrolled in the swine project at least 5 yrs including the current year. These items must be attached: Most recent high school transcript, two (2) letters of recommendation (from adults not related who are familiar with your goals and achievements). The Scholarship will be awarded during the 4-H Swine Show on Monday at the Huntington County 4-H Fair.

Swine Scholarship Application

One $500 scholarship will be awarded to current senior in high school and current member of Huntington County 4-H. 4-H record, with school/community activities considered. Applicant must be enrolled in the beef project at least 5 yrs including the current year. These items must be attached: Most recent high school transcript, two ( 2) letters of recommendation (from adults not related who are familiar with your goals and achievements). The Scholarship will be awarded during the 4-H Beef Show on Tuesday at the Huntington County 4-H Fair.

Beef Scholarship Application

Three $500 scholarships will be awarded to current senior in high school and current member of Huntington County 4-H. 4-H record, with school/community activities considered. Applicant must be enrolled in the goat project at least 5 yrs including the current year. These items must be attached: Most recent high school transcript, two ( 2) letters of recommendation (from adults not related who are familiar with your goals and achievements). The Scholarship will be awarded during the 4-H Goat Show on Sunday at the Huntington County 4-H Fair.

Goat Scholarship Application

Up to two $250 scholarships will be awarded to current senior in high school and current member of Huntington County 4-H. 4-H record, with school/community activities considered. Applicant must be enrolled in the dog project at least 5 yrs including the current year. These items must be attached: Most recent high school transcript, two (2) letters of recommendation (from adults not related who are familiar with your goals and achievements). The Scholarship will be awarded during the 4-H Dog Show on Saturday, July 11 at the Huntington County 4-H Fair.

Dog Scholarship Application

Up to three $500 scholarships will be awarded to current senior in high school and current member of Huntington County 4-H. 4-H record, with school/community activities considered. Applicant must be enrolled in (1) of the following projects for at least 5 years including the current year: Beekeeping, Floriculture, Forestry, or Garden. These items must be attached: Most recent high school transcript, (2) letters of recommendation (from adults not related who are familiar with your goals and achievements). The Scholarship will be awarded during the Wednesday Evening Awards Program, Huntington County 4-H Fair.

Master Gardener Scholarship Application

One $250 scholarship will be awarded to current senior in high school and current member of Huntington County 4-H. 4-H record, with school/community activities considered. Applicant must be enrolled in horse & pony project at least 5yrs, including the current year.
