2026 4-H Camp for Area 8 & 9

This camp is available to 4-H members in grades 3-6 who are enrolled in 4-H in one of the following counties: Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Howard, Jasper, Miami, Newton, Pulaski, White. This 3 day, 2 night camp brings together nearly 250 youth to learn and make new friends. Some of the activities kids will participate in at camp include hiking, archery, crafts, nature, foods, sports, rock climbing, swimming, and so much more! Each cabin is led by two high school 4-H members who have been trained by camp staff and Purdue Extension Educators. Campers love returning to camp year after year to learn new things, make new friends, and build important life skills.
Space is limited and all applicants will be added to a waiting list and approved on a first-come, first-serve basis for all counties. Applications to attend camp will be available in Spring 2026. Youth must be enrolled in 4-H and approved through 4-H Online to complete a camp application.

NEw in 2026: Adult Chaperones Needed
Want to see what all the buzz is about? Or relive your favorite camp moments? We need adult chaperones for 4-H Camp! Any adult volunteer who chaperones camp will guarantee their child acceptance to camp by bypassing the waiting list, assuming the camper meets all requirements! Chaperones will not be expected to lead any lessons or plan any activities, simply help monitor the 4-Hers at camp. Lodging and meals from Camp Tecumseh will be provided. Please contact Claire Crum King, Cass County 4-H Educator, with any questions or to volunteer as a chaperone! All chaperones MUST be approved 4-H Volunteers.
4-H Camp Counselors
Camp cannot happen without the help of our awesome camp counselors. Any high school 4-H member is eligible to apply. No previous camp experience is required.

May 12th- Tipppecanoe County Fairgrounds, 6:00pm
OR (you only need to attend the training on the 12th or the 13th, not both)

Cass County's Annual Mini 4-H Day Camp-2025
Cass County 4-H is hosting Mini 4-H Day Camp on June 20th at the Cass County Fairgrounds. All first and second graders are invited to attend the camp and learn and Grow with 4-H! Current 4-Hers will be leading activities and serving as Camp Counselors, to help encourage kids to learn and grow!
We will be learning about science, Indiana wildlife, health, art & crafts and more! You can meet live animals, ride in an electrician's bucket truck, explore the fairgrounds and see what 4-H projects are your favorite!
Lunch is included and a T-shirt will be provided for the day!
You do not have to be enrolled in Mini 4-H to join us at Camp, directions for enrolling are available below! Space is limited, Register before June 6th or while there are spaces available.
To register, complete the registration form below and return to the Cass County Extension office, along with payment of $15 cash or check, made out ot the Cass County 4-H Association. Then, finalize enrollment by completing the health form and choosing a t-shirt size through 4-H Online, available at https://2025CassMini4-HDayCamp.4honline.com. We must have a completed registration form, health form and payment before being able to attend camp. Once enrolled, reminders and a schedule will be sent at the end of May.

The Indiana 4-H Program will move forward with one time frame for our summer experiences on campus in 2026. The event will feature a Round Up Experience for 7th and 8th graders and a 4-H Academy experience for 9th – 12th graders, held June 10 – 12, 2026.
4-H Academy
4-H Academy experience June 10 – 12, 2026.
4-H Academy is an opportunity for youth in grades 11-13 to live on a Big Ten Campus and get hands-on educational workshops designed to teach technical and workforce preparation skills. Available workshops include Animal Health, Exploring Health Careers, Intro to EMS, Science of Flight, Engineering, Show Me the Money and more!
Registration for 2026 will be available in the Spring! Contact your local Extension office for registration assistance.
In Cass County, 4-Hers attending Academy for the first time are eligible to receive financial support to attend 4-H Academy if selected by the 4-H Awards Committee.Youth must be in good standing in their 4-H Club to receive support, and must register before May 9th, 2025. There are also potential funds available from the State Office. Please contact your 4-H Educator, Claire Crum, to learn more about State Funds.
Registration is to be initiated by a County Manager in 4-H Online, then completed by the 4-H member. If you are interested in registering for 4-H Academy, please contact the Cass County Extension office at cassces@purdue.edu or 574-753-7750.
4-H Round-Up
Round Up Experience June 10 – 12, 2026.
4-H Round-Up is an exciting opportunity offered to youth who have completed grades 7, 8, and 9. Attendees have an opportunity to explore a variety of careers by attending classes created just for Round-Up attendees at Purdue University. Participants will get a taste of college life and will live in a Purdue Residence Hall for two nights. Youth have an opportunity to meet others from across the state and further develop their leadership skills. Recreation events are planned in the evenings and blocks of free time allow attendees the opportunity to build friendships on their own. 4-H Band & Chorus
June 23th-26th at Purdue University
4-H Band & Chorus trip is an intensive instructional workshop that is open to 4-Hers and non-members alike! Professor Matthew Conway, Band Director, and Ms. Meghan Ferris, Chorus Director, will lead the youth as they practice and perform at 4-H Round-Up. Registration opens March 15th and the deadline is May 9th. Registration is to be initiated by a County Manager in 4-H Online, then completed by the member.
4-H Exhibit Hall Worker at The Indiana State Fair
August 7-23 at This Indiana State Fairgrounds
Youth are afforded an opportunity to work at the Indiana State Fair as an Exhibit Hall Worker. Duties include checking-in non-animal 4-H exhibits, preparing exhibits for display to the public, record keeping, interacting with fair attendees, assisting with a variety of state fair events, and releasing exhibits. Workers will develop team work, customer service, record keeping, and other work related skills through this temporary employment opportunity.
Exhibit Hall Workers must be a minimum of 14 years of age. This employment opportunity is also available to college-age young adults. Exhibit Hall Worker are expected to reside on-site in the reserved dormitory space. This is a minimum wage earning employment opportunity.
