Adult MHFA is an evidence-based program to educate individuals about how to interact and support someone experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. Adult MHFA helps participants feel confident helping someone in distress.

Adult Mental Health First Aid helps participants:
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of several mental health challenges
- Gain new perspectives about the stigma surrounding mental health struggles
- Learn how to start conversations with those at risk and encourage them to seek help
- Understand how to connect someone with appropriate professional and community resources
Who Should Attend?
Adult MHFA trainings from Purdue Extension are open to any adult (18 and older) who is interested in learning. No prior training or specific education is needed, and all experience is welcome. Frequent attendees include concerned family members and friends, faith-based leaders, farmers, healthcare professionals, law enforcement, school personnel, and community-based organizations.
