The Statewide Office is tasked with communicating information to each of the Extension Educators, Specialists, and offices. These individuals are tasked with hosting programs, assisting county offices, and disimenating up-to-date information to all over Indiana.

Angela Abbott
Angie serves as the Interim Associate Dean of Agriculture & Purdue Extension Director. A former 10-year 4-H member from Clinton County, she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Dietetics from Ball State University and her Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Creighton University.
As a registered dietitian and Extension Specialist, Dr. Abbott focuses on nutrition education programs for limited-resource audiences. Her research and program interests include health equity, nutrition education, employee engagement, and leadership development. She combines her clinical expertise with educational leadership to advance Extension's mission across Indiana.

Dr. Henry Quesada
Henry serves as Program Leader of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Assistant Director of Extension, and Professor in Forestry and Natural Resources. He oversees the ANR Extension program for Field Extension and provides support to Extension Faculty and Specialists on campus.
Dr. Quesada is a Purdue alumni, earning his Master's degree in 2001 and Ph.D. in Forest Products Technology in 2004. His leadership combines academic expertise with extensive program administration to guide Purdue Extension's agriculture and natural resource initiatives statewide.

Dr. Kara Salazar
Kara is Assistant Program Leader and Extension Specialist for Sustainable Communities with Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant, Purdue University Extension, and the Purdue University Department of Forestry and Natural Resources. Working with multidisciplinary teams, Kara oversees the development and delivery of programs to support community planning and sustainable development strategies in communities across Indiana, Great Lakes states, and the North Central Region. Kara is a certified planner (AICP) and has a B.S. and M.P.A. in natural resources management and nonprofit management from Indiana University, a M.S.Ed. from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and is a Ph.D. candidate in natural resources social science at Purdue University.

Walt Sell
Through the Field Crop Focus group, Sell works with Educators and Specialists in the area of Field Crops and Soil Health to address producer and landowner issues, resulting in enhanced outreach and greater impact. He represents Purdue Extension as a member of the Indiana Conservation Partnership State Team taking part in collaborative efforts to address the conservation needs within Indiana. As the State Onboarding Coordinator, he works closely with new ANR Extension Educators to build a solid foundation for successful careers through the on-boarding process.

Nathan Shoaf
Nathan, received his M.S. in Ecological Sciences and Engineering from Purdue University with a focus on horticulture and soil microbiology. He has over 20 years of experience working with stakeholders in urban farms and specialty farm production throughout the United States. Areas of interest: soil health, remediation, contaminant fate and transport, risk perception, and science communication. Nathan collaborates with stakeholders, Extension staff, and faculty to enhance Extension’s statewide programming and resources.

Ashley Adair

Amy Thompson
Amy serves as the Beginning Farmer Coordinator within the Diversified Farming and Food Systems program. She leads a team of Educators in delivering the Purdue Extension Beginning Farmer Signature Program, which helps new farmers identify assets, overcome challenges, develop action plans, and build resource networks. Beyond her beginning farmer programming, Amy co-chairs the Indiana Small Farm Conference and manages multiple grant projects focused on specialty crops. Her role combines direct farmer education with strategic program development and conference leadership to support Indiana's emerging agricultural entrepreneurs.

James Scott Monroe
Scott serves as an Extension Food Safety Educator at the Purdue Extension Food Safety Training Hub near Vincennes, IN. As a key member of Extension's Safe Produce Indiana team, he delivers statewide food safety programming and research for fruit and vegetable growers.
Scott and the Safe Produce Indiana team provide comprehensive produce food safety resources and support, serving as a one-stop resource for growers throughout the state. A sixth-generation Indiana vegetable producer with deep roots in family farming, Scott brings extensive industry experience from his pre-Extension career in various produce sector roles.

Joe Rorick

Adam Shanks
Adam is the Digital Agriculture and Natural Resources Curriculum Lead, managing and implementing The National Digital Agriculture Curriculum for Agriculture teachers across the country. He collaborates across the College of Ag to enhance Digital Agriculture education in Indiana. Certified as a Crop Advisor since 2007 and a sUAS FAA Pilot since 2018, Adam co-leads the Purdue Extension UAV Team, the "Quad Squad." In 2022, he obtained his Category 11 license for aerial application using UAVs and educates stakeholders on how to properly and legally utilize this technology. As a member of the (CCSI) Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative, he promotes the use of Digital Agriculture for improved soil health education.

Bryan Overstreet
Bryan Overstreet is the Conservation Agronomist for Purdue Extension and the Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative (CCSI) since 2023. Previously, he spent 18 years as an Agriculture and Natural Resource Educator with Purdue Extension in Jasper County and 20 years as an Agronomist with an Agriculture Co-op.
In his current role, Bryan collaborates with farmers, Extension Educators, NRCS, ISDA, and SWCDs statewide to promote soil conservation and health. He assists educators with PARPs and other soil health and conservation programs. Additionally, Bryan is involved with the Purdue On The Farm (POTF) team, helping to set up demonstration plots and tests on farms, organizing field days, and mentoring educators on agronomic issues that may or may not be part of the POTF.

Sarah Brackney
Sarah serves as the Daviess County Ag & Natural Resources Educator since 2022 and expanded her role in 2025 as one of three statewide Soil Health Agronomists for Purdue Extension, partnering with the Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative (CCSI).
Her expertise focuses on soil health, nutrient management, and conservation practices across diverse agricultural systems including row crops, grain crops, livestock operations, and large-scale specialty crop production. Sarah combines county-level extension work with statewide agronomic specialization to advance sustainable farming practices throughout Indiana.

Sarah Hanson
Sarah Hanson is the Food Systems Coordinator for Indiana. Her work supports diverse farms and value-added food businesses. She has a focus on local food and has been involved with local food council efforts. Sarah is on the Small Farm Conference team. She also is involved with connecting people to food safety and health partners.
Prior to this role, she was the Ag/Natural Resources Purdue Extension Educator in Johnson county for 10 years.
