Purdue Center for Regional Development (PCRD) and Purdue Extension – Community Development (CDEXT) want to help small businesses shift toward a digital platform mechanism to support their survival during the COVID-19 pandemic and their growth/development when the situation improves. As a result, PCRD and CDEXT, in collaboration with the Eastern Indiana Regional Planning Council (EIRPC) established a Small Business Connections group within the Eastern Indiana Region. Development of the group and generation of the content in response to COVID-19 are funded from a grant provided by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).

Small Business Connections is a regional virtual group open to all small business owners in Henry, Union, Randolph, Rush, Fayette & Wayne counties. PCRD hosts monthly workshops via Zoom for networking and learning sessions with small business experts and others whose insights would be valuable to business owners. The workshop’s content includes various topics such as small business financing and online business development (marketing, sales via e-commerce platforms, and consulting services).

Small Business Connection group will soon also have a social media presence on Facebook offering further resources and tips for successfully navigating the “new normal.”
