The Fort Wayne Farm Show is set for January 14-16, 2025 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The Farm Show will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM on January 14, 9 AM to 8 PM on January 15, and 9 AM to 4 PM on January 16.
Besides looking at new equipment and other displays, Purdue Extension and Northeast Indiana Soil and Water Conservation Districts have organized a great lineup of speakers for this year’s Farm Show! All the educational sessions will take place in the Appleseed Room A, right off the main exhibit floor. A lunch, sponsored by the Indiana Farm Bureau, will be available on Wednesday, in Appleseed Room B.
On Tuesday at 10:00 AM, a Midwest Ag Market Outlook will be presented by David Kohli and John Cavanaugh, WOWO Market Analysts, Ryan Martin, Farm Origination Specialist with Louis Dreyfus Co., and Rob Winters, WOWO Farm Director. Martin will add a weather outlook.
At 12:00 PM, Austin Pearson, Purdue Climatologist, will speak on climate impacts on agriculture.
At 2:00 PM, a two-hour Private Applicator Recertification Program with PARP and CCH credits will be available if you attend the entire two-hour program.
Wednesday morning starts at 10:00 AM with a program on farm emergency care by local Extension Educators.
Farm Bureau’s luncheon will begin at 11:30, with Brianna Schroeder of Janzen Schroeder Ag Law speaking on hot topics in land use. Only 150 meals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
On Wednesday at 1:30 PM, Jane Frankenburger, Purdue Professor, will discuss water resources in agriculture.
At 3:30 PM, Wells County Surveyor, Jarrod Hahn, will discuss the who, what, where, when, and why on drainage regulations.
At 5:30 PM, USDA/FSA staff will present on, “Making Sense of Programs.”
On Thursday at 10:00 AM, Extension Educator Bill Horan will discuss tips for the ag job search. Note also that vendors may be displaying “We’re Hiring” signs in their booths.
Finally, at noon on Thursday, Purdue Extension Educators will be offering training on preparing for the Core Pesticide Exam.
Be sure to visit the display booths of Purdue Extension and Northeast Indiana Soil and Water Conservation Districts on the lower level, Expo Hall 4.
