Are you, or is someone you care about, experiencing farm stress or other forms of stress that worry you?
Mental Health First Aid is a course to educate individuals about how to interact with and support someone who may be developing a mental health issue or experiencing a crisis.
Like CPR, Mental Health First Aid helps participants feel more confident in providing assistance and support to someone in distress.
Mental Health First Aid is offered by Purdue Extension facilitators. Facilitators are certified to teach this evidence-based program by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
Purdue Extension in Whitley County is bringing this often life-saving course to local residents Feb. 15, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Whitley County 4-H Center, 680 West Squawbuck Road, Columbia City, IN. The cost is $20, which includes lunch and course materials. The registration deadline is Feb. 1. NOTE THAT SOME ONLINE PRE-WORK IS REQUIRED.
Any adult is welcome to register. Our perceived audience may include farmers, farm family members, ag lenders, clergy, or anyone else who may be dealing with those experiencing farm stress or other forms of stress.
