Mini 4-H

In order to join, 1st and 2nd graders will need to pick a 4-H club and fill out the online enrollment or the paper enrollment. Keep in mind that the only project a 1st or 2nd grader may choose on the enrollment form is “Mini 4-H”. All projects are group projects at this level of learning.

It is very important that the Mini 4-H members attend the Mini 4-H workshops that are specifically designed just for them! The workshops will take place in the spring and summer. This is the time when our mini members learn about 4-H and do a variety of different hands on activities.  When the dates for these meetings are set, you will receive information via email on dates and times to plan for them.

Mini 4-H members are allowed to enter one of the projects they have made at their workshops for display at our county fair in July.  These projects are not judged but will be displayed proudly in the Mini 4-H section and receive their own special mini 4-H ribbon. Check in times and dates will be communicated by the Mini 4-H Project Leaders.

Mini 4-H members also have the opportunity to exhibit livestock non-competitively in our Mini 4-H Livestock Exhibition on the Sunday afternoon of the fair.  They will be provided with an older 4-H member and/or an adult volunteer to assist them with exhibiting the livestock.  Also, they are not allowed to bring in their own livestock, the livestock will be provided the day of the show.  Currently, the Mini 4-H members are allowed to exhibit Sheep, Goats, Swine, and Beef.  They may choose to exhibit all four or none at all. To register to exhibit at the livestock show please fill out the required form by the due date - see below

Save the date! The project leaders are planning to offer a Mini 4-H Day Camp on Saturday June 19th, 2021. More information and instructions to register will be released close to the day camp date.

Tentative Mini Workshop Dates are April 13th and May 11th from 5:30 pm CST  - 6:30 pm CST in the Community Bldg at the Jasper County Fairgrounds.
