On Dec. 2, 2020, the Orange County Service Council, in partnership with Purdue Extension, awarded 14 certificates of completion to leaders at the conclusion of the 2020 Community Leadership Program. Successful completion included attendance at nine sessions and a community project.
The community project was a food drive that collected approximately 3,000 pounds of food and $1,300 in donations for the three food pantries in Orange County. The sessions covered topics ranging from local government, managing conflict, non-profits, economic development, personal leadership styles and much more. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from many Purdue Extension educators, community/regional leaders, businesses and volunteers who spoke to the class regarding their areas of expertise. The 2021 Community Leadership Program is currently accepting applications for its next class that is to run from March to December 2021.
