Mari Romero is a dedicated Latino Community Childcare Educator and certified CPR instructor with a strong academic foundation in public health and a passion for supporting children, families, and communities. As a first-generation Latina, she is committed to advancing opportunities for Latino families and promoting equitable access to education, resources, and community support. Through her regional work with Purdue Extension's Community Childcare Program, Mari supports early childhood educators across Indiana's Wabash Heartland Region by providing professional development, coaching, and resources that strengthen the quality of care for young children. With experience conducting community-focused research, developing culturally responsive programs, and promoting mental and physical well-being, she brings a unique blend of hands-on practice and data-driven insight to her work. Her bilingual skills, research background, and dedication to creating welcoming, inclusive environments make her a strong advocate for children, families, and the diverse communities she serves.
