Nick Held is the Agriculture & Natural Resources and Community Development Extension Educator in Spencer County, Indiana. He also serves as County Extension Director.

Nick began his Extension career in Dearborn County, Indiana, in 2002 as an Agriculture & Natural Resources and Community Development Extension Educator. He continued that role in Spencer County, beginning in 2008. He has been involved in a variety of Extension programming efforts over the years, including farmland leasing, farm succession planning, crop production, consumer horticulture, Master Gardener, value-added/specialty agriculture, land use, Purdue New Ventures Team and Purdue Small Farms Team.

Nick’s background is in Agricultural Economics, receiving B.S. and M.S. degrees from Purdue University in 2000 and 2002, respectively. A Spencer County native, he is also involved with the operation of his family’s fourth-generation family farm, located just outside of Santa Claus, Indiana, where they raise row crops, hay, beef cattle strawberries and other produce.
