Newbie Know-How - State

This is a supplemental teaching resource for beginners that can be used with Teens Teaching Tech.

Inside the  Box - Level 1 (Grades 3-5) - State

By the end of this activity guide youth will be able  to: identify computer components, operating systems; exhibit knowledge of the  building, maintenance and repair of computers.

Level 1 (Grades 3-5) - St. Joseph County Handbook

Youth will know how to: demostrate computer equipment/hardware, how computers accomplish tasks, and/or how careers have been affected by technology.

Peer to Peer - Level 2 (Grades 6-8) - State

By the end of this activity guide youth will be able to:  demonstrate a basic understanding of networking; work with adults and peers to build a functioning network.

Level 2 (Grades 6-8) - St. Joseph County Handbook

Youth have a variety of subjects to choose from including: computer operating systems, word processing, how to create a database, establish a network, create a spreadsheet, etc. (see the handbook for all the options).

Teens Teaching Tech - Level 3 (Grades 9-12)

Work with peers, adults and community partners to develop service related computer goals; develop lesson plans and teach diverse populations basic computer skills.

Level 3 (Grades 9-12) - St. Joseph County Handbook

Youth can choose: desktop publishing, design a spreadsheet template, develop a www homepage, etc. (see the handbook for all the options).
