Meet The PEMC Team: Nick Schwaberow

When did you start working at Extension and what is your job title?
I started working at Extension January 31, 2022. My job title is Extension Educator - Urban Agriculture.
Where did you go to college and what was your major?
I attended Indiana University and earned a BS in Environmental Management. I also earned a Master's of Public Affairs (MPA) in Environmental Policy and Sustainability.
What was your "aha" moment that got you interested in working with Purdue Extension?
In the summer of 2019 I attended some urban agriculture classes, hosted by Extension at several different urban farms in Marion County. Brooke Alford, along with Amy Matthews, Sharrona Moore, and other urban farmers introduced me to horticulture concepts I hadn't been familiar with prior to attending the classes. The new information that was presented through those classes inspired me to look into the work that Purdue Extension does.
