Everyone is welcome to join us September 30 at 6 pm at the Expo Hall. We use this meeting to give you updates about the past year, elect the new 4-H Council members, and take suggestions on how to improve things for the coming year. There is a short presentation and voting followed by committee meetings.
We are also looking for candidates interested in running for 4-H Council. We have three seats up for election this year. A 4-H Council member in Lawrence County plays a crucial role in guiding and supporting the local 4-H program. This involves participating in council meetings (2nd Monday of each month at 7 pm), helping to plan and organize county-wide events and activities, providing input on program improvements, and serving as a liaison between 4-H members, leaders, and the broader community. Their efforts help ensure that the 4-H program effectively meets the needs of its youth participants and fosters their growth and development. New this year, we no longer have seats on the board determined by township location in the county. We now have nine At Large seats on the board. Terms are three years, and you can serve up to two consecutive terms. If you are interested in running for election or would like to nominate someone, please email or call Lesley at (lodmell@purdue.edu or 812-275-4623.
