Meet Adam Good. Teacher, Freelance Video Production Professional, and Hamilton County 4-H Alumni.
A graduate of Sheridan High School, Good was a ten year 4-H member participating in a variety of projects including Photography and Junior Leaders.
“The various photography projects I did in 4-H helped to develop my interest in the video production industry. Through Junior Leaders and being a camp and mini-camp counselor, I learned that I also enjoyed helping young people. This was a main factor when I decided to…become a teacher,” said Good.
“4-H helped me explore lots of different interests I had when I was young and narrow down what I wanted to do after school.”
Good holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts/Electronic Media from Butler University, and now teaches TV and Broadcasting at Brownsburg High School. He also is a freelance production contractor, with a client list that includes the Indianapolis Colts and Lucas Oil Stadium Events, Butler University, Indiana Fever, and others near central Indiana.
Teaching and running a business, Good puts his 4-H life skills to work every day. Leadership, multi-tasking, staying organized, teamwork, and giving back and helping others are just a few he can point to. It’s the people, Good says, that are at the heart of 4-H.
“So many great people helped me grow and develop skills that are valuable and used in everyday life. And all of the friends and great memories I have from that time - lots of people I am still friends with to this day,” said Good.
Good also serves as the emcee for the annual Hamilton County 4-H Queen Pageant.
“I enjoy being a part of the queen pageant each year and seeing the people who will be representing Hamilton County throughout the fair and more. I also enjoy visiting with the Junior Leaders and seeing the great things they continue to learn and do, as well as the great young people that come from that group,” said Good.
“Being a part of Hamilton County 4-H was one of the biggest and most impactful parts of my life when I was young. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of the people and opportunities that came through 4-H. I hope that youth for years to come can continue to have experiences similar to mine. Thank you to all the Extension staff, leaders, volunteers, and friends that came into my life through 4-H!”
