Hello 4-H Families,
I know that many of you do not show swine at the county fair, but Sam and I wanted to get this information out to you in case you decide to show swine in 2021 and have more than one animal at your location. The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) is part of a national secure pork supply plan. This supply plan is an initiative that provides opportunities for producers to voluntarily prepare before a disease outbreak and be able to move animals if a disease outbreak occurs. Attached you will find an introduction to the Securing Indiana’s Pork Supply as well as instructions on how to participate. The third attachment is dates of upcoming programs incase you would like to attend an event to learn more. Information on this program can be found at www.securepork.org.
