The county may send one exhibitor from each of the eligibility categories: Cats, Dogs, Poultry, and Rabbits.

Exhibit Introduction
This project is designed for those members who would like to learn about livestock but do not own the animals. Species included in this project: (SF denotes State Fair Entry). All marked with an * must be enrolled in the specific project area in 4HOnline before registering in Fair Entry. For example, anything with an * i.e. Cats, Poultry, Rabbits, and Dogs, will need to be enrolled in that specific animal project. All others below (not marked with “*”will be entered in “Animal Posters”.

NOTE: Member’s enrolled in live animal projects have the option to exhibit a poster as described below without enrolling in the livestock poster project if their animal is unable to participate in the live animal show.
State Fair Guidelines:
POULTRY POSTER
This project is open to any enrolled 4-H member. Exhibiting live poultry is not required. The purpose is to visually demonstrate knowledge of poultry.

Level 1 (Grades 3 – 5)
Animal care, animal breeds, litter-training, treating my animal with care and respect, animal responsibilities, grooming skills, training my animal, de-clawing good or not, neutering or spaying, my animal is lost, determining animal costs, traveling with my animal, my animal’s safety, me and my animal, and helping those with disabilities.
Level 2 (Grades 6 – 8)
Animal associations, an animal clinic, here comes the judge, training with extra praise, let’s decide for my animal, careers related to animals, should my animal have offspring?, types of animal food, feeding my animal, things I’ve learned, insect pests, animal talk, symptoms of ill health, my visiting pet therapy program, animals get cold too!, saying good-by, purposes of animals, responsible animal ownership, uses of animals, disease/parasite prevention, and careers with animals.
Level 3 (Grades 9 – 12)
Understanding an animal show, planning an animal business, am I a role model?, animal genetics, animal organs and systems, exploring careers, learning about leadership, my animal quiz bowl, teaching others, having fun learning, protecting our environment, issues of animal welfare/rights, learning life-skills with the animal project, your animal and the law, food, an animal’s sense of smell, animal over-population problems, and animal health.
