Grow with Purdue Extension's programs in Allen County

Give Yourself or Someone You Know the Gift of Education

Upcoming Educational Programs in Winter/Spring 2022 for farmers, growers, and gardeners in Allen County:

Urban Farming Series

No matter how you picture urban farming, you might be right! A host of farming operations fit under the urban farming umbrella (community gardens, backyard growers, homesteaders, school gardens, and more), and you'll find a great deal of diversity in terms of people as well as practices. Challenges are easy to find, too.

But you can learn how to cultivate food safely from planting to harvest in an urban setting with Purdue Extension’s Urban Farming series.

Thursdays Feb 3 through March 17 (no class on Feb 24th), 6pm to 9pm at Purdue Extension - Allen County (4001 Crescent Ave).

The registration fee is $75 per individual and includes a workbook.

If you're interested in attending but are concerned with the cost, we have partnered with Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District to offer scholarships to support urban farmers within the Western Lake Erie Basin Watershed. This scholarship will reimburse 75% of the total cost of the program for those who are awarded.
