WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.  — The National AgrAbility Project (NAP), housed at Purdue University’s Breaking New Ground Resource Center, invites farmers, ranchers and agriculture professionals to the 2025 AgrAbility National Training Workshop March 24-27 to address issues of disability in agriculture.

“The conference facilities for this year’s national training workshop will be in Las Cruces, New Mexico,” said Paul Jones, project manager of NAP. “Participants will stay at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces and have a few activities there, but the main conference sessions will be held at the nearby New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum. The conference will provide transportation to and from the museum.”

The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum is an interactive venue with more than 24,000 square feet of exhibit space. In addition to indoor exhibits, the museum has livestock, gardens and live demonstrations. One of its newest displays, opened in January 2025, showcases AgrAbility.

The keynote speaker for the conference will be Tiffany Sanchez, a New Mexico AgrAbility client who, along with her family, raises horses, livestock and greenhouse products. Sanchez incurred a spinal cord injury when she was bucked from a horse and is now a wheelchair user.

Conference breakout sessions will cover topics including farm stress, assistive agriculture technology, and support for veteran and beginning farmers. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour New Mexico State University’s equine therapy program and Chili Pepper Institute, the Santa Teresa international import/export livestock border crossing, and White Sands National Park.

Early bird pricing ends Feb. 21. Conference registration ends March 17. The complete conference schedule, pricing and hotel information are available at www.agrability.org/agrability-national-training-workshop/2025-agrability-national-training-workshop/.
