Refer to 4-H Poster Construction Rules on page 24 of your handbook for correct procedure on how to construct your 4-H Poster (if the division requires a poster).

Completed record sheets are due into the Extension Office on or before June 29, 2020, 4:00 PM. No records, or late/incomplete record sheets will result in an exhibit being considered for EXHIBITION ONLY—NO PLACING.

DIVISION I—GETTING ON TRACK WITH ELECTRICITY
1. Do the following:
     a. Make a circuit board.
     b. Conduct a Hazard Hunt.
2. Complete your record.
3. Exhibit:
     a. Circuit board (no larger then 6" x 6"), labeled parallel or series circuit. Kit available at Extension Office.

The completed page "What I Have Done and What I Have Learned" is required WITH your exhibit (county fair only).

DIVISION II—SCORING ELECTRICITY THROUGH MAGNETISM
1. Do the following:
     a. Make a magnetic powered flashlight OR
     b. Poster on a topic described in the manual.
2. Complete your record.
3. Exhibit either:
     a. A magnetic powered flashlight OR
     b. A poster as outlined in the project manual or project CD.

DIVISION III—WORKING WITH ELECTRICITY
1. Make one of the following:
     a. Build an extension cord using all new parts.
     b. Build an incandescent trouble light using all new parts.
     c. Build a fluorescent trouble light using all new parts.
     d. Repair an extension cord or trouble light by replacing the cord, plug, connector body or socket handle with a new part(s).
     e. Create a poster about
          • wire size
          • wire type
          • current carrying capacity
          • the parts of an extension cord or trouble light
          • an important safety-related topic
          • any topic covered in the Div 3 manual
3. Complete your record. (For parameters on any of the above project options, see the Division III Electric manual).
4. Exhibit either:
     a. Extension cord.
     b. Trouble light.
     c. Poster or display board as outlined in project manual. 
***If the exhibit is not a poster, attach a note explaining how it is to be used. 

DIVISION IV—WIRING IN YOUR HOME
1. Complete the activities presented in the manual.
2. Make or remake a lamp, or make a poster or display board on any topic covered in the manual.
3. Complete the record sheet.
4. Exhibit one of the following:
     a. Made or remade lamp
     b. Poster on any topic covered in the manual.
     c. Display board on any topic covered in the manual.
***If the exhibit is not a poster, attach a note explaining how it is to be used. Display boards should be appropriately sized for the displayed equipment.

ADVANCED DIVISIONS 5-10- Electricity & Electronics
(This book is being updated and you may find other resources at your local library, electricians, instructors, internet, etc. to provide guidance for your project.)

The Advanced Division is split into two different categories. One area is “Advanced Electric 5-10” and the second is “Advanced Electronics 5-10.” You may choose one category for your Advanced 5-10 exhibit

Exhibit ONE of the following:

***If the exhibit is not a poster, attach a note explaining how it is to be used. 

***Attach to the exhibit any kit instruction or book/mauls if you feel they will help explain the operation of the exhibit. This may be important for advanced electronic projects.
