ATV

ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES (ATV)

Quads (4 wheeled all terrain vehicles) only will be allowed in this project.
Refer to 4-H Poster Construction rules on page 24 of your handbook for correct procedure on how to construct your 4-H poster.
(NO STATE FAIR EXHIBIT)

This project cannot be added to 4-H members enrollment form after the ATV Safety Day in April.
Completed record sheets are due into the Extension Office on June 29, 2020, 4:00 PM. No records, or late/incomplete record sheets will result in an exhibit being considered for EXHIBITION ONLY—NO PLACING.

The ATV project will be open to any 4-H member between grades 3 through 12. Enrollment should be made according to the years in ATV club.
Each member MUST have their own machine.

SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER 1 GOAL!!
All members MUST take the safety course offered in the spring, all members must attend 75% of meetings and club rides. As well as following all requirements according to grade. Failure to complete all requirements will result in the member not being able to participate in events or rides, and the member will not be able to receive any placings or rewards.

1st & 2nd Year in project
1. Must participate in safety course.

2. All first & second year members must study ATV workbook that is available from leader. Optional: a written quiz may be given over workbook.

3. Members must exhibit a 22"x 28" poster display on ATV SAFETY (see general 4-H project poster construction rules in your handbook) judged at County Fair. 2nd year poster must be different from 1st year poster. A written description or story telling about your exhibit must be included.

4. All members must participate in the completion rodeo held at end of the year.

3rd & 4th Year in project
1. Must participate in safety course.

2. Study handbook, written quiz may be given.

3. Exhibit a 22"x 28" poster display on OTHER USES OF ATVS (see general 4-H project poster construction rules) judged at County Fair. 4th year poster must be different from 3rd year poster. A written description or story telling about your exhibit must be included.

4. All members must participate in the completion rodeo held at end of the year.

5th & 6th Year in project
1. Must participate in safety course.

2. Exhibit a 22"x 28" poster display on MECHANICS OF ATVS (see general 4-H project poster for construction rules) judged at County Fair. 6th year poster must be different from 5th year poster. A written description or story telling about your exhibit must be included.

3. All members must participate in the completion rodeo held at end of the year.

4. Work with younger members by encouraging and helping them if they have problems. Inform members when a safety hazard is being made.

7th – 10th Year in project
1. Must participate in safety course.

2. No fair exhibit required.

3. All members must participate in the completion rodeo held at end of the year.

FINAL COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS

2. Members must study ATV workbook and must be able to answer questions from leaders.

3. Members must exhibit at the County Fair (if required).
