  Pork Quality Assurance Plus (PQAPLUS)
(PQA+) Training


Pork Quality Assurance Plus (PQA+) training will take place for Indiana pork producers

Friday, February 21, 2020 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM EST


Required certification presentations and written exams will be provided with registration, with those requesting certification needing to bring their PQA+ license number.

Registration for PQA+ testing materials is required through the Purdue Extension - Dubois County office at ph.(812) 482-1782.

OISC CORE and Category 14 Training

This training is for pesticide applicators needing to take the core or agriculture fertilizer applicator exams. Category testing can be scheduled for afternoon; but no subject matter is taught.

8:30 – 9:00 a.m.          Registration & Welcome


9:00 – 9:25 a.m.           Regulating Pesticide Use


9:25 – 9:50 a.m.         Pesticide Formulations


9:50 – 10:15 a.m.         Pesticide Labels, Part 1-


10:15 – 10:35a.m.       Pesticide Labels, Part 2


10:35 – 10:50 a.m.       Calibration and Maintenance


(those not needing Cat 14 are free for Lunch Break)


11:00 am to Noon - Category 14 (Training only for those needing the Cat 14 endorsement for manure applications)


1pm- 5pm EXAM TESTING (Tests can be scheduled for 1pm and / or 3pm)

*To register for the training session contact Purdue Extension-Warrick County, 812-897-6100, by March 7th, 2020.

*To register for the exam(s) at Ivy Tech visit to sign-up. There will be a $55 fee. To select the March 13th testing date- you need a password. Register with office above to receive password. There are limited spaces so sign-up early! Testing blocks are 1pm and 3pm; individuals can take 2 exams if needed.

*Training manuals are available ($30+shipping) from The Purdue Education Store and can be ordered by calling 765-494-6794.

Any individual interested in becoming Certified as a Pesticide Applicator is required to take an Exam. Currently there are three options to do so: 


Option 1.

Attend one of the Purdue Pesticide Program Core Trainings with the Exam at the end.

Option 2.

To Self-Study and schedule an Exam-only at Purdue University Exams are held in Stewart Center (STEW) on the Purdue University campus. For information and to schedule an exam, can call 765-494-9563.

There is no cost to take the exam. Study manuals can be ordered by calling Purdue Pesticide Programs at 765-494-4567, or through your local Extension Office.


Option 3.

To Self-Study and schedule an Exam through Indiana Metro Institute

These are proctored online exams taken in one of their remote sites at an Ivy Tech or Vincennes University.
Cost is $55 for Exam only.
