Verbal Communications Contest

The following verbal communication events and activities are offered to 4-H members as a way to teach presentation and public speaking skill development. 4-H members can prepare a talk in any of these areas. See the website for specific rules. At the county level Cloverbuds (K-2 grades) can participate by saying the 4-H pledge, short poem or something of similar length to get them comfortable speaking in front of others. If the Cloverbud is more advanced, they could do a speech or short demonstration. Cloverbuds will receive a participation ribbon and not  be judged. Clovers (3-5 grades) can compete at the county level. Juniors (6-8 grades) and Seniors (9-12 grades) may be selected to represent Marion County at the Indiana State Fair.
