Purdue University has scheduled several February and March workshops related to crop marketing and farm finance for producers throughout Indiana. The Purdue Crop Marketing and Farm Finance Workshop, featuring faculty experts from Purdue’s Center for Commercial Agriculture, will be held at three different locations.
These workshops begin at 10:30 a.m. EST, with the following dates and locations:
- Friday, Feb. 14: Vermillion County Fairgrounds Community Building, 325 W. Maple St., Cayuga.
- Friday, March 6: Dubois County Fairgrounds Clover Pavilion, 4157 S. State Road 162, Huntingburg.
- Friday, March 13: Wells County Community Center, 1240 4-H Park Road, Bluffton.
There are two 90-minute sessions at each workshop, one titled Improving Your Crop Marketing Skills and a second session titled Preparing to Meet with Your Ag Lender. Presenters for these workshops include Mintert, Michael Langemeier (associate director of the Center for Commercial Agriculture and Purdue professor of agricultural economics), and Nathan Thompson (Purdue assistant professor of agricultural economics).
“Producers can gain advice and expertise at these workshops to improve their skills in crop management and financial management for 2020,” said Mintert.
