Leather Craft Workshop

Friends Forever 4-H Club will be hosting a leather craft workshop on both Saturday, February 6 and 13 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Annex. These come-and-go workshops are open to all Hamilton County 4-H’ers and are a great opportunity to complete a Basic Craft Project!  Pack a lunch/drinks and stay the whole time!  Come to both workshops or just one...it's up to you!  There are project ideas and kits available at tandyleather.com.  If you would like a kit, please email the 4-H’ers name, item number and item description by Jan 28 to 4-H Volunteer, Rosalie Alvey at brianandrosalie@yahoo.com.  

Please stay home if you feel sick. We will be social distancing and wearing masks. The Leather Guild is bringing special blue lights that will sterilize any tools used (between student use).

Beef BBQ

Workshop will show how to prepare and light the grill and how to safely prepare and handle the foods. Hygiene techniques and safe grilling methods will also be discussed. Question and answer session while families grill and eat lunch. All supplies are provided. We will be facilitating a mock judging workshop for microwave. Each 4-H’er is encouraged to bring a test project or two that they are considering for their fair exhibit.  The leaders will facilitate the judging of projects by 4-H’ers and provide helpful hints and feedback. The goal is to provide some specific help and guidance for the 4-H’er, help them experience the evaluation process, and identify what may resolve any issues. Some sample exhibits will be on hand for participants to test their skills and use if they are unable to bring their own project. Handouts and resources will be on hand for 4-H’ers to use. This will be an opportunity to ask questions about the forms due May 15 for exhibiting at the fair. Please bring birds, paperwork, or any questions you need help with. 

Blood Testing 
We will be required to blood test birds before the fair this year. Please watch for dates and plan accordingly to bring your birds to one of the testing dates.

This is a come and go sewing workshop for all levels. Activities and information available at the workshop include:
-product demonstrations
-make it and take it mini projects
-help with pattern selection and choosing sizes of patterns
-sewing construction resources

4-H'ers may bring any sewing projects and questions to the workshop for individual help!

Fashion Revue
You are sewing a garment (or a few) that you are proud of...now what?! Stop by the Fashion Revue open house workshop for all levels. Learn how to pull together your garments into a flattering outfit, hear some helpful hints for judging night, and practice your modeling skills that will show off your hard work! 4-H’ers will have the opportunity to receive individual help, so bring any questions you have.
