2024 Beef Cow/Calf Improvement Seminar

The 2024 Beef Cow/Calf Improvement Seminar is Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Cornerstone Hall (1500 RC Morris Dr., Salem, IN 47167) from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. The seminar’s theme is “A Systems Approach to Advancing Production in the Cow Herd.”

Seminar speakers have a wide range of expertise and will share their knowledge and experiences with beef cattle production.  University of Tennessee’s Dr. Troy Rowan will discuss “Genomics in the Commercial Cow Herd.”  Dr. Bethany Funnel, Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, will discuss “Embryo Transfer in Commercial Beef Herds.”  Jason Tower, Southern Indiana Purdue Ag. Center Superintendent, and Lane Edwards, Cattle Producer, will share their experiences on “Managing Toward Fewer Hay Days, A Discussion on All of the Positives.”  Purdue Beef Systems Specialist, Dr. Nick Minton, will present on the topic “Raising Cattle or Raising Constant Headaches.”

Early registration on or before February 20 is $40 per person.  Registrations received after February 20 are $50 per person.
