Passing It On: Farm Transition to the Next Generation

Does your farm family have questions about succession planning?  Are you curious how owner financing could work in your plan?  Or do you simply need help starting the transition conversation with your family?  All these questions, and MORE will be answered during an exciting program offered by Purdue Extension on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at Cornerstone Hall (1500 East R.C. Morris Drive) in Salem, IN.  The program theme is “Passing It On: Farm Transition to the Next Generation.”  Featured speaker, Dr. Paige Pratt, will share personal experiences and provide the necessary steps for farm families to start the transition conversation. Local professionals will also be present to share important information on current legislation impacting farm transition, long term care insurance, and owner financing.  The cost to participate is $30/person, which includes lunch.  The registration for farm families with four members attending is $100.  Additional members above four are only $20/person.  Farm families seriously navigating the succession planning process, may be interested in a one-on-one consultation with Paige Pratt on Sunday, December 10, 2023.  The one-on-one consultation may include up to three family members from the same farm.  There is a limited number of consultations available for $75.  Registration fees are required by Monday, November 27, 2023 to Purdue Extension – Washington County (806 Martinsburg Rd, Suite 104, Salem, IN 47167).  For more information contact Danielle Walker, ANR Educator, at dhowellw@purdue.edu or 812-883-4601.  Farm families are encouraged to attend.
